Thousands of installations and years of service have demonstrated the success of Webb rivetless chain which is given a very large share of credit for the general popularity of overhead conveyors. This chain is unique in that it is assembled and disassembled without any use of tools; yet, the design is such that it is impossible for the chain to become disconnected in service. Some characteristics which make Webb rivetless chain desirable for overhead trolley conveyors are:
  • It is simple and strong; yet, it is cheaper and lighter per unit of ultimate strength than any other type of conveyor chain.
  • There are only three component parts; the center link, side link and connecting pin.
  • Since it has no rivets or bolts, tools are not required for assembly and disassembly of this chain.
  • All components are drop forged from high carbon steel to obtain greater strength by taking full advantage of material grain flow and denser material.
  • All chain parts are heat treated to increase resistance to wear, corrosive and abrasive action, and to withstand shock loads.
  • Plating is available on X-228 (X-50-6) & X-348 (X-75-13).


    • All chain can be Magnafluxed upon request. Special alloy type chains are available upon request.
