Arlcite® ceramic ball mill linings are a high-density, long-wearing alumina composition. Arlcite® mill linings are chemically inert and will not react when exposed to mill chemicals.
Arlcite® blocks are a tongue and groove design with straight or tapered sides manufactured to fit any mill configuration. Chipping, edge spalling and erosion are discouraged, so the performance life of the lining is extended and contamination is minimized.
Mill lining blocks are produced in three thicknesses and can be cut to any length (see chart below). Customers should evaluate the maximum load capacity of their milling equipment before changing linings.
Mill lining blocks are installed using white cement and a chemical hardener. When installing the lining, joints should be staggered and kept at minimum for a secure fit. The interlocking design makes installation easier than for blocks of natural stone.
Ferro also manufactures lifter blocks (see illustration below). The addition of rows of lifter block can promote a cascading motion in the ball mill and provide for more efficient grinding.
